NEW DELHI, Aug 21 (Reuters) - Farm Minister Sharad Pawar said on Friday that he expects winter-sown crops to be planted early and over a larger area.
Failed monsoon rains have ravaged summer-sown crops in several regions and the government aims to make up for the losses with a higher output from the next crop.
"I anticipate higher and early coverage of winter-sown crop this year," Pawar told a conference of state agriculture ministers
