India~s soybean areas get good rains - met office

NEW DELHI, Aug 13 (Reuters) - India's main soybean growing region has received one-and-a-half to 4 times of normal rainfall on Wednesday, the weather office said on Thursday.

Domestic oilseed output is crucial for India, the world's top vegetable oil importer, to reduce its dependence on overseas purchases.

India's July vegetable oil imports were 4.3 percent higher at 596,024 tonnes from a year ago, a leading trade body said
