Kaushambi (UP), Oct 23 (PTI) Two members of a family died and eight others were taken seriously ill due to dropsy after they consumed adulterated mustard oil in Kalyanpur village here.
Ten members of a family had been ill since the past 15 days and were being treated for meningitis and measles, Chief medical officer (CMO) Dayaram Verma said today.
Their samples were sent for testing and they were admitted to Motilal Nehru hospital in Allahabad, he said.
Two children of the family aged ten and six years died yesterday while eight others were still undergoing treatment, he said, adding that samples of mustard oil have been taken from the shops in the village and its adjoining areas and sent for testing to Lucknow.
